In 1964, Martin Cohen, a young mechanical engineer, photographer and Latin music aficionado, founded Latin Percussion. He solicited feedback for his first percussion instruments from NYC musicians at Latin nightclubs. Cohen established a tradition that is still practiced at LP; the needs of performing musicians are placed ahead of everything else. Proudly, LP has created hundreds of the finest percussion instruments that can be heard in the world's most famous, chart-topping recordings - in every genre.
