(9mm,6ply All Birch Shells) The 9mm, 6-ply all-birch shell is thicker than modern drums and features a powerful attack and thick mid-bass. It received high praise for its clear sound image, which was a clear departure from the mellow, soft sound that was common with drums at the time. Also, the inside of the shell was painted in the same color as the specs from the early 1980s.
