(9mm,6ply All Birch Shells) The 9mm, 6-ply all-birch shell is thicker than modern drums and features a powerful attack and thick mid-bass. It received high praise for its clear sound image, which was a clear departure from the mellow, soft sound that was common with drums at the time.
