We offer five standard configurations to start with, all featuring our popular 7-ply all maple shell construction (4 plies of Canadian maple, 3 plies of Chinese maple). The drums share fittings and finishes, offering the flexibility to mix and match within the whole AQ2 Series. The AQ2 Series drums come with newly designed shell hardware and a new tom mounting system: the SmartMount. Designed with renowned jazz drummer Adam Nussbaum, the 20" K Constantinople Renaissance ride is a complement to the 22" version, but with some unique qualities. The 20" Renaissance Ride offers a smaller, over-hammered bell, for a sound that's more contained, more integrated with the overall cymbal, and less chimey. After a long process of research and experimentation, in close cooperation with our Artist Federico Paulovich, the new “Est.1931 Series” is here, as a tribute to the year of our company’s foundation. “Est.1931” cymbals are dry, smooth, warm with a traditional sound, but updated to perfectly fit new modern music styles. Crashes are dark, warm, smoky, soft, very low pitched, with a soft response and short sustain. Rides are extremely dry, musical, very controllable with an excellent stick definition, but still crashables. Hi Hats feature a warm chick, dry sound, good response and great control.
