TAMA is on a quest to bring drummers a new sound in snare drums.

Solid sound; full projection; rich, resonant tone; tight, crisp snare response"¦ these were the objectives we strived for in creating Starphonic drums. In order to achieve this, we developed a concept that incorporates entirely new hoop, lug, and strainer designs, combined with a variety of uniquely constructed drum shells. STARPHONIC snare drums are the result of three years of detailed research and precise testing.

A symphony of sound springs to life from each STARPHONIC drum as a result of its own unique naturally resonant shell material, Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snappy Snare wires, and a specially designed Grooved Hoop.

By mounting STARPHONIC's innovative hardware on a 1mm thick steel shell, we are able to offer our top-of-the-line snare drum sound at an affordable price. At the cost of an intemediate model, the PST146 provides a warm, solid sound and great sensitivity.
